Hand made and hand painted plate, smashed and stuck back together using gold powder mixed with araldite glue. Like the British Museum project, this was inspired by a Japanese mending method called kintsugi whereby repairs are traditionally carried out using gold powder mixed with laquer or resin. This way, a crack and a break can become part of an object’s history rather than a factor leading to its obsolescence.
