I am a fine artist, working primarily in textiles and ceramics. Using the domestic as a backdrop for exploring personal and cultural ideas about heritage and belonging, my work touches on feminism, diy culture, punk and the politics of shared experiences that are rooted in everyday life. As a remedy to concerns about filling the world with yet more stuff, my work generally has a practical utility so it can assume a life beyond being an art object.
I am currently living and working in London. For information and to discuss exhibitions and commissions, please get in touch via email at je.scott@live.co.uk.
